Lisa Haydon, Professional Therapist, Derbyshire
I am an accredited Integrative Psychotherapist and EMDR therapist. I specialise in supporting people who have experienced childhood harm. This may be in the form of neglect, sexual abuse and / or domestic abuse. This is understandably a sensitive area of need and often requires longer term therapeutic support to work through the traumas you experienced and relieve your psychological distress.
People sometimes avoid reaching out for professional support because they believe their problem is either too small, or too big to deal with. No problem is ever too small, if it is affecting your everyday life then it is important. No problem is so big that it can’t be understood and worked through.
I support anyone who might be feeling stuck and struggling to make sense of things. Maybe you are struggling to find your purpose in life. Making transitions and adapting and adjusting to new life stages (changing jobs, having children, retiring, bereavement and loss) can be overwhelming at times. Maybe you are seeking to make sense of the past and manage how this is impacting on you now. Perhaps you are looking to understand yourself better, recognising your relationship patterns to be able to move forward.
Some things I’ve learned along the way …
- It doesn’t take as long as you think to feel better
- You are more resourceful than you know
- What you know now is not what you will know later
