Is it Counselling or Psychotherapy?
It can be confusing to know the difference between Counselling or Psychotherapy.
I refer to it mostly as “therapy” but to be honest; you can say whatever feels OK for you because at the end of the day how you and I work together is going to be what counts.
I could refer to 100’s of theorists (people who think up really good stuff) and 1000’s of references (65 billion according to the internet to be precise) to get to a definition but the dictionary definition sums it up:
“An activity that makes you feel happy or that helps you to deal with your problems”
A common misconception about integrative therapy
People sometimes worry that it means integrating you into a group or working with others it’s definitely not that!
It can help provide you with a set of tools to help you understand yourself and others better
What can I help with?
Firstly no worry is silly. If you find yourself spending a lot of time thinking about it and it affects how you feel and how you are around others then it means it’s real for you and that’s something we can work on.
